To make personalization easier in your emails, The Drag & Drop editor's Conditional Sections allows you to specify whether a recipient should see that section of the email or not.
NOTE: Custom lookups from custom entities are not supported in this feature.

- Condition Setup
The conditions you're setting up for the sections in your email rely on the CRM field, its value, and the operator. An optional step is grouping if you use more than one field in your condition.
One Condition
When using one condition, you'll select the CRM field and then the value that is being checked. For example, below shows a condition checking the recipient's contact record for a specific value in the Zip Code field.
Any recipient who does not have that value in their Zip Code field will not see that section of the email. This would also include if that recipient is a Lead or if the recipient is a Contact but has that field blank on their record.
Multiple Conditions
At times you may want to check more than one field in CRM to determine if the recipient should see that section of the email. When doing so, you have a couple options available.
As soon as you have more than one condition saved in the Section Condition window, you don't have to group them. However, they will by default be grouped using and logic. So a recipient would need to qualify all conditions set in the window in order to see that section of the email.
If you prefer to not have your multiple conditions grouped using and logic, then group them with the or grouping option. That will allow for recipients who satisfy at least one of the conditions to see that section of the email.
Null or Empty Values
If one of your recipients has a field that is blank, in the case of multiple conditions, a couple scenarios are possible.
- For multiple conditions grouped by and logic (manually set or by default), if a recipient has no value in any of the fields being checked, then they will not be able to see that section of the email.
- For multiple conditions grouped using or logic, as long as the recipient satisfies at least one of the field requirements, even if a different checked field is blank, they will be able to see the email.
Groups
Conditions can be grouped using either the and grouping or the or grouping.
Just select the condition rows you want to group (using the checkmarks at the left) and click on the Group Or or the Group And button. If you need to undo a grouping, select the individuals and then the Ungroup button.
You can choose one or more fields from the contact/lead entity to be part of the conditional statement. Because you'll be able to check different field types, please refer to the list below to see which operators are available.

Setting up conditions is very similar to setting conditions in our Campaign Automation's decision node. Simply go to your Email Template, select a section, and add your conditions.
You can add conditions based on fields on the Lead, Contact, or Account record. No other entity fields can be checked via conditions.
Delete a Condition
You can delete a condition by selecting the row (using the checkmark at the left) and clicking the Delete button.
