ClickDimensions Sales Engagement Activities
Activities are created for each step in the Sequence. Activities are essentially your to-do List. To access them go to Activities on the left navigation while in the App.
If you have any overdue Activities those will show at the top of the list in order of most overdue. After those would be the Activities that are due today.
There are 5 Activity Types:
· Manual Email
· Generic Task
· Phone Call
· Auto Email
For these activities, you will open the activity record and then update the content with information that is likely related specifically to the Contact or Lead, or their company, that the email is going to.
Once you replace the content with real information, you can send a test to yourself if you would like to by clicking the Send Test Email button on the bottom right. When you are ready to send, click the Send button at the bottom.
This will be whatever you want it to be, so you will open this and do whatever the task says to do and then Close the Activity
Select the Activity and Action to Close Activity
There are several out of the box LinkedIn options. Open the activity and see what you should do.
On the right side you will see the LinkedIn Profile URL area. Click on the magnifying glass to search. It will search by name and company name (if an Account is set on the Contact or Lead record).
This will take you to search results on LinkedIn. Click on the right person. And then copy the URL in the address bar.
Paste the URL in the LinkedIn box and click the save icon.
Now that URL will be saved to a LinkedIn field on the Contact or Lead record. And the next time you have a LinkedIn task for this person, their URL will show up here and you can just press the globe button which will go directly to their LinkedIn Profile. When you click that button, it will also copy the text from the editor area to your clipboard.
When you are done, go back to the Activity and click the Mark Complete button at the top.
The Phone Call Activity is to alert you that you need to call the Contact or Lead. There are areas in the Phone Call Activity record to record the information about the call and what the outcome was. The Call Outcome options come from the Configurable Values documented below.
These actually will not show up in your list of Activities because they are handled automatically, but they are an Activity type, ClickDimensions Sales Engagement just hides those from the main Activities views.
In each activity there is an option for Sequence Action. The options are Automatic, Finish, and Skip To. This is for what will happen after you mark the task as complete or send the email.
- Continue Sequence: will just go to the next step. This is the default.
- Skip To: This option will allow you to send this contact to a future step in the sequence rather than go to the immediate next step. It will produce another drop down field for you to choose which step to skip to. If this is the last activity in the Sequence, Skip To will be disabled.
- End Sequence: ends the Sequence Instance after this step. No more steps will occur. Note that if this is already the last step, that will happen automatically, you do not need to choose this value.
Each Activity has an Info tab inside that shows information about that particular Activity and information about that Contact or Lead:
The timing of each activity is based off of when the previous one is completed. For example, if the first step is a manual email and the second step is a LinkedIn task set for 3 days later, and the manual email task is completed 4 days late, the LinkedIn task will not be created on the 3rd day, it will be created on the 7th day (3 days after the email task is completed).
