    Hi Stephan!

    Thank you for your question. We added custom fields to the contact record so that the workflow to update the marketing list can trigger on the change of this field if you're using a static Marketing List. If you're using a Dynamic List, it can only look at criteria directly related to the Contact. In order to pull an accurate list of contacts that have opted into something, the workflow will fire to change these values each time a Posted Subscription record is created.
