The Block Editor is a Landing Page editor that allows user to design a page using predefined content blocks.
Goals
- Learn how to use the Block Editor to design a Landing Page
- Dynamics 365
Select a Layout
After you have created your Landing Page and pressed save, your Block Editor will appear.
To choose a layout, click on the Layouts button in the top toolbar.
This will open a new window called Layouts Dialog.
There are 9 layouts to choose from, but you can always add, subtract, move, and edit the blocks once you’ve selected one and it has been inserted onto your page. Layouts # 8 and 9 are special layouts where the big block on the left and right respectively will allow you to place blocks within the big one so that they will grow in height independtly of the blocks next to it. In the other layouts as one block in a row grows in height so will the others. Choose one and click Create. Your layout will now appear in the design view. You are now ready to start editing your landing page.
Right Click Menu
Content can be added to blocks in the layout by right clicking a block. Doing so will display this menu:
Through the right click menu you can remove the block from the Landing Page, add a new block above, below, or to the side of the block, adjust the block width (if there is more than one block in the row), add content to the block, add a block border, or set the block's background color. Clicking Add Content will display this screen:
The option you choose on this screen affects the type of content that can be added to the block. Text Only allows you to add text to the block, Image Only allows you to add an Image, Image Top/Bottom/Left/Right allow you to add both an image and text into the same block with different orientation, HTML allows you to add text, images, or your own HTML content, and Form or Survey allows you to easily embed any ClickDimensions Form or Survey you have made as an iframe.
