Where Are Components Located?
In the Form, Survey, or Subscription Page Editor, set the Filter drop down field to Form Components to see a list of Components. To add these items to the Web Content record, drag and drop into the primary editing pane.
Here is a list of the following Components that you can include in your form:
Section Title
This lets you add some text within the form. You can change the font, color, size, and weight of the text within the Properties window. Drag and drop the component to the Form Designer, select the component, and click on the Properties button in the Field section of the ribbon (or you can double click on the component in the Form Designer). The Properties window will open and you will be able to make the necessary changes:
Captcha
By default, the Captcha will be added to every form created (as of version 9.20). You can remove it if you wish but will encounter a warning message reminding you that the Captcha helps protect your form from spam submissions.
Google Captcha
The Google Captcha will present the person attempting to submit the Form, Survey, or Subscription Page with a checkbox and the text "I am not a Robot". When the box is checked, the person may be asked to look at a series of images and select all of the images containing a specific type of subject matter before being allowed to submit the record.
Whether or not the captcha displays the image selector is determined by Google's Captcha algorithm; users will not be able to modify the captcha settings to always or never display the image selector.
Because of functionality determined by Google, the Google Captcha is not able to be used in form's embedded as widgets. If you need to use the Google Captcha component please embed your form as an iframe, use the embed as link URL, or use Form Capture.
Legacy Captcha
Any Web Content records created after September 16, 2018 (9.6.0 release) will no longer have the CAPTCHA as an available component. We have added support for the Google Captcha and all Web Content records will have access to this option going forward.
The legacy CAPTCHA component is a security addition that will make sure a human is submitting the form, not a computer robot. It will insert a simple slider into your form, which the user will need to slide a switch from left to right in order to submit. If you are accessing the form on a mobile device and not a computer, tapping the lock icon will allow you to submit the form.
Line
The Line component will insert a horizontal rule line that spans the width of your form (the horizontal width of the line can change based on the number of columns selected). You can alter the thickness and color of the link in the Properties window.
NOTE: This component is not available for Subscription Pages.
Page Break
By inserting a Page Break, you will divide your form into multiple sections. The Page Break component will insert Next and Previous buttons. Any questions that appear above the Page Break are on the first page, and any questions after the Page Break component will be visible once the user clicks Next on the form.
NOTE: This component is not available for Subscription Pages.
HTML
If you would like to insert images, text, or HTML into your form, you can do so by using our HTML Component. Open the Properties window to edit the HTML. This is very similar to the Free Style Editor. View this post to learn about the buttons in this editor.
HTML Component - Add an Image
You can add images by clicking the Image Manager button. This will allow you to see the Image Manager, where you can organize your folders of image files in the first column. Create new folders or subfolders by clicking + New Folder at the bottom of the column.
In the middle column, you can upload images, either by clicking Upload an Image or dragging and dropping image files from your computer into the designating upload space.
You if you select an image file that you have already uploaded into the Image Manager, a preview of the image file will appear in the third column. You also have edit options for this image, accessed by clicking the Edit button in the top right corner of the third column.
Once you're satisfied with the image you'd like to insert into your HTML Component, click Ok.
HTML Component - Link to a File
You can make files accessible within the HTML Component by using the Link Manager. Click Link Manager button, and within the Link Manager, select the File tab.
In the first column, you can create and arrange folders and subfolders to store your files. Create new folders with the + New Folder button in the bottom left corner of the column.
In the middle column, upload a file or multiple files either by clicking Upload a File, then select the files on your computer to upload them, or drag and drop the files of your choice into the designated upload area.
NOTE: You can upload one or more files at once, but the maximum size allowed for each file is 10 MB.
Select the file you wish to link into your HTML Component, then click Insert Link.
Once you're happy with your HTML Component setup, click Ok in the bottom right corner, and your changes will be saved and you will be taken back to the designer.
File Upload (Forms Only)
This allows the person submitting the form to upload a file with the max size of 10MB with their submission. Upon submission, the uploaded file will be saved in the Notes section of the File Upload's corresponding Posted Field record.
Multiple File Uploads can be used within the same form, but the maximum size for each individual component will be 10MB and the maximum upload size per form submission is 28.6MB.
NOTE: .exe and .js files cannot be uploaded to a File Upload component.
Please Note: The dedicated ClickDimensions user needs to have the appropriate permissions to create a note in CRM. This is required in order to allow ClickDimensions to create a note in the Posted Field record with the file that was uploaded.
Regardless of the maximum file size you configure for the File Upload component, the maximum file size for attachments in your CRM is governed by the System Settings in the Administration area of CRM:
Also: If you use the Firefox web browser, to view an uploaded file you must click both the large and small "NOTES" text buttons on the Posted Field record.
Notice both the large and small "NOTES" text links above the uploaded file; you must click both of them to view the file in Firefox.
Email (Surveys and Subscription Pages Only)
IMPORTANT: You MUST include the Email Component on your web content record if you are embedding it onto another page otherwise the record submission may not be associated with the correct Lead or Contact in CRM.
The Email Component will allow for the Web Content record to be placed on your website and still attach the Posted Survey to the right Lead/Contact.
Click on the Formatting Tab to change the number of columns the field takes up and see the validation:
Phone (Forms and Subscription Page Only)
The Phone component will allow you to add a text field to a Form or Subscription Page in which a Lead or Contact can specify the phone number to which they would like to receive SMS messages or the phone number from which they would like to unsubscribe from SMS messages.
If any SMS Subscription Lists are included on the Subscription Page or are used with a checkbox field on a Form, the Phone component MUST be included or the Posted Preference records for the corresponding Subscription Lists cannot be created in your CRM when somebody submits their information.
NOTE: The Phone Component is only available to users who have switched to the Opt-In Subscription Management style in ClickDimensions Settings.
Unsubscribe All - Email (Subscription Pages Only)
The Unsubscribe All component allows you to add a checkbox to a Subscription Page which, if checked, will opt the Lead or Contact out of all emails. This component will take precedence over any Subscription Lists included on the Subscription Page, so the person will be opted out if this component is checked even if some of the Subscription Lists are set to Opt In.
Unsubscribe All - SMS (Subscription Page Only)
The Unsubscribe All - SMS component allows you to add a checkbox to a Subscription Page which, if checked, will create an unsubscribe record for the Lead or Contact's Phone Number that was placed in the Phone component field and set the Allow Text Messages field on the Lead or Contact record to "Do Not Allow".
NOTE: The Unsubscribe All - SMS Component is only available to users who have switched to the Opt-In Subscription Management style in ClickDimensions Settings.
Agree to Terms (Subscription Page Only)
In accordance with GDPR compliance, the Agree to Terms component allows you to add a checkbox to the Subscription Page that allows the person submitting the page to agree to your terms and conditions. This checkbox is for record-keeping purposes and does not have any opt in or opt out functionality applied to it.
If the Agree to Terms Component is placed on the subscription page, it is required for the end user before submitting the Subscription Page.
