The Email Designer's Countdown Timer content block allows you to add a timer to your emails. Timers create a sense of urgency for your call to actions, and can be a piece of certain template designs!
Adding a Countdown Timer Content Block
The Countdown Timer block is accessible in the Email Designer's 'Content' tab. To add it to your Email Template, drag it into the desired location:
The new Countdown Timer will look like this:
Click the Configure Timer button to open a pop-up where you can configure the Countdown Timer's properties:
Begin by choosing your timer type. There are three types:
- End on Date: The timer counts down until a specified date.
- Start on Open: The timer counts down for a specified amount of time, beginning when the email is opened by the recipient.
- Start on Send: The timer counts down for a specified amount of time, beginning when the email is sent.
Fill in your desired values for the type you have selected, and then configure the timer's styling properties:
- Timer Style: Default, Arcs, or Blocks. The timer preview will immediately change to reflect the selected style.
- Size: X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large.
- Language: The language of the "Days", "Hours", "Minutes", and "Seconds" labels.
- Digit Font: The font for the timer's digits.
- Label Font: the font for the "Days", "Hours", "Minutes", and "Seconds" labels.
- Background Image: Optionally provide an image to use as the timer background.
- Expiration Image: Optionally provide an image to use when the timer has expired.
- Enable Fallback: Provide a fallback image for the timer.
- Colors: Choose digit, label, background, and accent colors.
When you are satisfied with the configuration, click the Save & Close button to return to the design view.
Countdown Timer Content Properties
You can further configure the Countdown Timer block in the Content Properties panel:
- Configure Timer: Opens the Countdown Timer's properties.
- Align: Configure the Countdown Timer block's alignment.
- Image Rounded Corners: Choose whether the Countdown Timer block's corners are rounded sharp.
- Action: Configure whether the timer image link will direct to a web page, email, phone, file, or (via the Special Links option) a Subscription Page, Form, Landing Page, Survey, or View in Browser page.
- Block Options: Adjust the Countdown Timer block's padding, and choose whether to hide the block on mobile, desktop, or neither.
