ClickDimensions has developed and released a cloud update to resolve this issue. No further action is required.
Microsoft has recently made changes to the way third-party applications can connect to their solutions, including Dynamics 365 for Sales. They are in the process of a rolling deprecation to their regional discovery services that prevent connections based on username/password authentication. If you utilize username/password authentication for your ClickDimensions connection to Dynamics 365, you are at risk of a service interruption to the ClickDimensions platform. To avoid this interruption, you must take action to update your connection method.
To find out what authentication method your account is utilizing, navigate to Settings > ClickDimensions Settings > Service Credentials. On this page you will see "Current Authentication Method" and an option to update authentication methods. Please note that it may take up to 60 minutes for connectivity to be restored after changing authentication methods.
Customers will need to change to one of the other two supported authentication methods:
- Application User - Allows the use of a service account that may help mitigate Microsoft API limits. For more details, please see our Application User article here.
- Service Principal Authentication (Single Sign On/SSO) - A session and user authentication service that permits a user to use one set of login credentials to access multiple applications. For more information and details on enabling this, please see our SSO article here.
On-Premise customers will not be impacted by this issue.
