Once you have created your Subscription Lists and Subscription Management Page you'll need to set up how the people who opt-in to Subscription Lists are added to the right Marketing List(s). There are a few ways to handle this. Managing opt ins with a Campaign Automation or a workflow it will keep your Marketing Lists clean, but these processes take a little longer to set up. Another method is to use the Add to Marketing List Action when creating the Web Content: Subscription Management Page; it will not keep your lists as clean as the first way, but this is quicker to set up.

Managing Opt Ins
When someone submits their Subscription Preferences (when they indicate and submit their preferences on the Subscription Management Page), you need a way of putting this person on a Marketing List that is associated with the Subscription List that he or she opted-in to. You can do this by adding every person who submits the Subscription Management Page to a static-type Marketing List associated with each of the Subscription Lists shown on the Subscription Management Page. This setup will add every person who submits the Subscription Management Page to these specified static-type lists, regardless of their preference.
This will still be effective, because even if they opt-out, they will have created an Unsubscribe record within Dynamics for the Subscription List they have chosen to opt out of, and will still not receive any emails sent to any Marketing Lists associated with it.
In this example we have 2 Subscription Lists on our Subscription Management Page:
Subscription List A: Contains 3 Marketing Lists:
Marketing List 1: Dynamic List of Leads
Marketing List 2: Static List of Leads
Marketing List 3: Static List of Contacts
Subscription List B: Contains 4 Marketing Lists:
Marketing List 5: Dynamic List of Contacts
Marketing List 6: Dynamic List of Leads
Marketing List 7: Static List of Contacts
Marketing List 8: Static List of Leads
Add to Marketing List Action
Open a Subscription Management Page record that you have created. Click on Design at the top.
Then, in the Designer click on the Actions Tab:
Pull over the Add to Marketing List Action and click on the lookup field.
Now choose at least one static-type Marketing List that is associated with each Subscription List that is included on this Subscription Management Page. We placed Subscription Lists A and B on this one. Each has 2 static-type Marketing Lists associated with it. One with Leads and one with Contacts. We will want to put all of those 4 Marketing Lists in here. Marketing List 2, Marketing List 3, Marketing List 7, and Marketing List 8. And Save.
Now, every person who submits these Subscription Preferences will be added to all four of the associated Marketing Lists. So if they opted-in to the Subscription List, they are going to receive the emails sent to those Marketing Lists. BUT if they opted-out of the list, they will still receive their Unsubscribe record and will not receive any emails sent to that Marketing List.
