A CNAME is used to brand certain links with your own domain when using ClickDimensions. If you prefer your customers to see your company’s domain name instead of ClickDimensions, you can set up separate CNAMEs for email links, Web Content links, and social post links.
NOTE: It is recommended that you have an Email CNAME already set up within your DNS Settings. Please see our Help article that gives more details about setting up CNAMEs for both email links and web content records here.
If you require multiple email link brandings for different situations or departments within your organization, you may choose to set up multiple email CNAMEs. This is perfect if you are part of an organization with multiple brands, divisions, or sub-organizations, and you require different link brandings for various emails. This feature is available for Email Send records, Email Template records, Campaign Automation Email Sends, and Quick Send Emails.

Create your other Email CNAMEs
Navigate to ClickDimensions > Email CNAME in CRM.
Click New in the upper left corner to create a new Email CNAME record.
Input the value of your new Email CNAME. This will be a different Email CNAME than the one within your DNS Settings within ClickDimensions Settings.
NOTE: You should never add HTTP or HTTPS to the beginning of your CNAME when saving it in the DNS Settings. Doing so will cause your email links to break as we handle the HTTP protocol on the backend for you.
Click Save.
The CNAME will now populate with the value you have saved.
Test your Email CNAME
Within the Email CNAME record's submenu bar, click Test CNAME. This can be found by clicking the ellipses menu button.
You will see a Success! message, or an Unable to Connect message.
If your CNAME is unable to connect, please check for how the CNAME was set up within your DNS Hosting Service's settings. Please refer to our other Help article on how to set up Email CNAMEs for additional screenshots.
Once you have set up your additional Email CNAMEs, you may use them with ClickDimensions Email Templates, Email Sends, and Quick Send Emails.
