The Submitted Subscription trigger is used to check for the submission of a Subscription Management Page and may be used as an Entry Point Trigger or as an Internal Trigger. If the trigger is an entry point and a contact or lead has submitted the selected subscription page, the Campaign Automation will begin.
Add the Trigger to a Campaign Automation
To add a Submitted Subscription Trigger to a Campaign Automation, click on the trigger icon in the sidebar and drag in onto the Campaign Automation Canvas.
Trigger Properties
Once the Submitted Subscription Trigger has been added to the canvas, click on it, and you will see the right panel change to show the properties of the trigger.
Display Name (required): Once you select a subscription page, this will change automatically to the name of that survey, however you may change it to whatever you would like.
Select Subscription (required): Choose an already created Web Content subscription page. For help on how to create a subscription page, see here.
Trigger only once per: If this field is checked, then submissions by the same participant/email address will trigger the automation only once per 24hrs based off of the selection in the drop-down menu.
Note: A note is an optional field for any details that need to be written about the trigger.
Using the same page in another automation
A Subscription Page can only be used with one published Campaign Automation at a time. If, in a second Campaign Automation, you attempt to select a Subscription Page that is already in use and save it, an error message such as the one below will appear to indicate in which Campaign Automation the Subscription Page is being used:
Multiple Subscription Page Submissions
Previously, when you had a Campaign Automation that begun with a Submitted Subscription trigger, if someone submitted your page more than once within a 24-hour period, then the first submission would process through your automation, but the subsequent ones wouldn't. The "extra" (those happening within the 24-hour window) submissions would still be stored in your environment as Posted Subscription records but would not generate another participant at all within the Campaign Automation.
As of version 10.5, this trigger will now allow multiple submissions each to generate a new participant by default, and there is a new "Trigger only once per participant" checkbox on the trigger to limit the number of accepted submissions to one per day.
