Click Social supports sharing videos on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, Bluesky, and YouTube. To ensure that your videos will be shared without issues, we validate each video according to the selected network's specifications.
To avoid any issues, please ensure that the video you're trying to upload meets the required specifications below.
Video Requirements by Network
X (Twitter)
- File Size: maximum of 512 MB.
- Duration: should be between 0.5 and 140 seconds.
- Resolution: should be between 32x32 and 1920x1920.
- Format: video container should be an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio.
- Aspect Ratio: should be between 1:3 and 3:1.
- Frame Rate: Maximum of 60 fps.
- File Size: can not exceed 10 GB.
- Duration: can not exceed 4 hours.
- Format: video container should be one of the following: 3g2, 3gp, 3gpp, asf, avi, dat, divx, dv, f4v, flv, m2ts, m4v, mkv, mod, mov, mp4, mpe, mpeg, mpeg4, mpg, mts, nsv, ogm, ogv, qt, tod, ts, vob, or mwv.
- Aspect Ratio: between 9x16 and 16x9.
Reels
- File Size: should not exceed 300 MB.
- Duration: should be between 3 seconds and 15 minutes.
Stories
- File Size: should not exceed 100 MB.
- Duration: should be between 3-60 seconds.
General Specifications
- Aspect Ratio: between 0.1:1 and 10:1 (but we recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank space).
- Maximum Resolution: horizontal pixels should be less than 1920 pixels.
- Frame Rate: should be between 23-60 fps.
- Format: video container should be either MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), no edit lists, moov atom at the front of the file.
- Audio Codec: should be AAC, 48khz maximum sample rate, 1-2 channels (mono or stereo).
- Video Codec: should be either HEVC or H.264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.
- Video Bitrate/datarate: maximum 25 Mbps.
- Audio Bitrate/datarate: maximum 128 Kbps.
LinkedIn supports a broad range of video aspect ratios from 1:2.4 to 2.4:1.
- File Size: should not exceed 1.75 GB.
- Duration: should be between 3 seconds and 20 minutes.
- Landscape (16:9): a standard widescreen format, often 1920 x 1080 pixels.
- Square (1:1): recommended for general use across devices, often 1080 x 1080 pixels.
- Vertical (4:5 or 9:16): ideal for mobile viewing to maximize screen real estate. The 4:5 ratio (e.g., 1080 x 1350 pixels) is a good balance for both mobile and desktop (appearing with narrow sidebars on desktop), while 9:16 (3.g., 1080 x 1920 pixels) is strictly for mobile.
- File Types: either MP4 or MOV (recommended)
- Frame Rate: between 10 and 60 fps.
- Bitrate/datarate: between 192 Kbps - 30 Mbps
TikTok
- File Size: Up to 1 GB.
- Duration: between 3 - 180 seconds.
- Format: must be MP4 (recommended), MOV, or WebM.
- Resolution: at least 540p (960 x 540 pixels).
- Character Limit (Captions): maximum 2200 characters.
Bluesky
- Duration: up to 3 minutes per video
- Count: maximum 1 video per post (or up to 4 images).
YouTube

Shorts: videos of 60 seconds or less in portrait or square orientation are automatically converted to YouTube Shorts by YouTube.
- Custom Thumbnails for Shorts are only visible as link previews if you share the video outside of YouTube (not on the video itself).
- File Size: maximum 1.75 GB.
- Title Length: maximum 100 characters.
Tags (Meta Tags)
You can add keyword tags to help improve your video's visibility on YouTube.
- The total character limit for all tags combined is 500 characters, including commas and quotation marks (as per YouTube's API documentation).
- Commas between tags count toward the limit.
- If a tag contains spaces, YouTube treats it as if it's enclosed in quotation marks, and those quotation marks also count toward the limit. For example:
- Tea-Cup = 7 characters
- Tea Cup = 9 characters
Thumbnails
- When you upload a YouTube video to the publishing console, the thumbnail that appears initially is simply Click Social's preview thumbnail.
- To make sure the thumbnail appears as you want it on YouTube:
- Choose a frame from the video or upload a custom image using the Video Settings (cog icon) located at the top-right of the video preview.
- Make sure you have verified your YouTube channel.
