After having created an Email Template, you may want to reuse it while changing key information or making slight adjustments but keeping an original copy. You can easily do this by clicking the Clone button after you have saved your changes.

Cloning a Template
Cloning a Template
It will open a new window and make an exact copy of the template you just created including the HTML version, text version, subject line, owner, and tag field. The Name will also be the same except it will say [CLONE]: in front, but you may change this. This new version is a copy and therefore any changes to it will not update the original email template in any way. We recommend paying special attention to the name field and changing it to differ from the original email template's name before saving.
Changing the Editor Type
When you clone a template, before saving the clone you can change the Editor Type field to use a different value than the original template you cloned from.
Changing the editor is ideal if your template was created with the Drag & Drop or New Drag & Drop editors. Templates created in one of those editors and then cloned to use the Freestyle or Custom HTML editors allow you to access the template's source code. You can also clone a Drag & Drop template and change the editor to New Drag & Drop if you prefer to use that New Drag & Drop editor to edit your template.
