A Domain Record is a record of the domain of any website upon which you intend to place the ClickDimensions tracking script on or embed a Form, Survey, Landing Page, or Subscription Management page. Domain records are used in conjunction with the tracking script to track web events.

Navigate to the Domains
Domain Records can be created by navigating to Settings and Support > ClickDimensions Settings > Domains.
To create a domain record, first click New.
Create a Domain Record
The Domain record contains three fields: Domain, Web Content CNAME, and Enable Opt Out.
The Domain field should contain the domain of the website you are tracking and should not include http:// or www (for example, we would use clickdimensions.com, not http://www.clickdimensions.com).
The Web Content CNAME masks Web Content with a domain name of your choosing and should be created when you setup CNAMEs.
The Enable Opt Out field should be set to Yes if you are utilizing this Domain record with any Forms, Surveys, Subscription Pages, or Landing Pages that you are linking to directly and you want to include a Web Tracking Opt Out prompt on that record.
When you have filled in the information for the record, click Save.
If your Domain record returns an error upon saving, there could be an issue with the Web Content CNAME on the record. Validation will run to ensure that the CNAME is ready to use, so if it returns an error you can follow our troubleshooting steps.
Domain Troubleshooting
If you have version 8.12+ of ClickDimensions, to help ensure that domain values are properly formatted, if you include http://, https://, or www in the domain value, we will automatically strip it out upon saving and leave only the domain name. Also, if the domain value is otherwise incorrectly formatted due to an issue like the inclusion of spaces, the following error screen will display:
Working with Subdomains
When embedding a Web Content record, such as a form, onto a page within a subdomain of a website, be sure to create a domain record specifically for that subdomain and associate that domain record with the Web Content record.
If the Web Content record is associated with the default domain instead, its Page Views and submissions may not track properly.
After you have created your Domain record, the next step is to put the tracking script on your page!
