As part of our effort to provide valuable data, reduce noise, and minimize the amount of data created in your D365 environment, ClickDimensions stopped syncing Anonymous Visitor records on April 4th 2022 as part of our Version 12.3 release. In alignment with those goals, this article provides some information on how this change will impact the data ClickDimensions syncs to your database as well as some tips on cleaning up your database in response to this change.
Page Views
The cdi_pageviewBase table will experience a significant decrease (up to 90%) in the volume of data synced by ClickDimensions. To clean up the previously synced anonymous data, you can safely delete any Page Views associated with an Anonymous Visitor. Going forward, Page Views will only be synced when they have been identified with an existing Lead/Contact.
IP Organizations
The cdi_iporganizationBase table will experience a decrease in the volume of data synced by ClickDimensions. To clean up the previously synced anonymous data, you can safely delete any IP Organizations associated with an Anonymous Visitor.
Anonymous Visitors
The cdi_anonymousvisitorBase table will no longer be utilized. You can safely delete all the entries from this table and reduce it to 0.
Please note that you may want want to clear out the cdi_anonymousvisitorBase table after cleaning up your cdi_pageviewBase and cdi_iporganizationBase tables, so that you can easily query for entries in those tables related to Anonymous Visitor records. If you delete this table first, then you can still clean the other tables by querying for entries that do not have any associated Lead or Contact.
