Just like with emails, recipients can unsubscribe from receiving text messages sent from your organization.
Goals
- Learn how customers can unsubscribe from SMS messages
- Learn how SMS unsubscribes are recorded in Dynamics

Our MessageMedia connector allows recipients to adjust their subscription status by replying with certain keywords. The following are the Subscribe and Unsubscribe keywords that recipients can use to change their preferences.
Subscribe keywords:
- START
- ADD
- SUBSCRIBE
- YES
- UNSTOP
Unsubscribe keywords:
- STOP
- UNSUBSCRIBE
- CANCEL
- QUIT
SMS Unsubscribes
Under both the Opt-In and Opt-Out Subscription Management methods, if someone replies with one of the following responses, they will be unsubscribed from SMS:
- unsubscribe
- stop
- stopall
- cancel
- quit
- end
- remove
- 688
- *688
This marks a field on the record called Allow Text Messages to "No". If you do not see this field on the Lead/Contact/Account record, have a Dynamics Administrator customize the form to bring it into view.
SMS Unsubscribes in the Opt-In Subscription Management Method
If your Dynamics environment is on the Opt-In Subscription Management method, then in addition to updating the Allow Text Messages field mentioned above, Click will also create an Unsubscribe record for the relevant phone number.
Under the Opt-In Subscription Management method, SMS recipients will also be able to opt-out of SMS messages through a Subscription Management Page Using the Unsubscribe All - SMS component in addition to the option of replying using one of the unsubscribe codes listed previously.
This will also update the Allow Text Messages field and create an Unsubscribe record.
