Use transitions in Video Studio Editor to create smooth visual effects between video segments. Apply fade and blur effects to the start or end of your clips for a more polished edit.
Transition Types
You can add the following transition effects to your video clips:
- Fade In: Gradually brings the clip into view from black.
- Fade Out: Gradually fades the clip out to black.
- Blur In: Gradually sharpens the clip from a blurry image.
- Blur Out: Gradually blurs the clip as it ends.
Apply a Transition to a Video Clip
- Open your project in Video Studio Editor.
- Make sure a video clip is already on the timeline.
- Locate the transition effects panel where you can ind Fade and Blur transitions.
- Click and drag the desired transition effect (Fade or Blur) toward the clip on your timeline.
- Drop the effect onto the yellow-highlighted area at the start of the clip to apply a Fade In or Blur In effect.
- Drop the effect onto the yellow-highlighted area at the end of the clip to apply a Fade Out or Blur Out effect.
- Repeat these steps to add transitions to other clips as needed.
Transitions make your videos look smoother by controlling how clips appear and disappear. Use the yellow highlight to easily identify where transitions can be placed.
