After sending your email, you'll want to see who shared your email on social platforms and how many shares happened over all for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+. (If you have not done so, you can look at this article for instructions on how to insert social sharing links into your email).
When the recipient clicks on the a social link inserted in your email using our Social Sharing feature, a new window will open in their browser which will prompt them to click a button to compose their post/tweet. With ClickDimensions, your recipients have the option to share an email or link on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+.
NOTE: If you share a ClickDimensions email via a Social Sharing Link, the view in browser and unsubscribe links in the shared email will be disabled so people viewing your social post cannot unsubscribe you without your knowledge.
Here is an example of what it would look like if the user clicked to share a link on Facebook:
After clicking on the button, the recipient will be asked to log into the respective social platform, and from there they'll be able to compose and share their post.

Social Statistics
The Sent Email Send record shows Social Statistics for the Email Send as well as other data, such as Delivers, Opens, and Clicks. To find this data, scroll down in the Email Send record until reaching Social Statistics. There are two parts to the Social Statistics in an Email Send record: the Social bars and the Social list. The Social Bars show you how many people shared the email or a custom link via the email that you sent.
You'll notice that under each bar, we specify how many recipients shared what within the email. Facebook: How many recipients shared the email link or a custom URL (based on your preferences in the Social Sharing Options window)
Twitter: How many recipients tweeted the email or the custom tweet specified in the Social Sharing Options window.
LinkedIn: How many recipients shared the email on LinkedIn.
Google+: How many recipients shared the email on Google+.
The Social List shows who shared on what social platform and what they shared - whether it was the email or custom URL/tweet text. The first tab shows a collective list of every recipient who shared something via the email.
On the left you can see whether the person is a Lead, Contact, or Account. On the far right, you can see which social platform they used. Also, the name of the Lead/Contact is linked to that person's record in CRM. If there is content we can link to - such as the web page or email that they shared, that will be a link as well.
If you want to see all of the posts to individual social platforms, click on the social platform's tab that you are interested in, and all of the shares to that social platform will be listed there.
Email Events
When your recipients share the email, they are doing more than just clicking on a link in the email. This is why we have created a new Email Event record type called Social.
When someone shares content via the sent email, an Email Event record will be created. In the Email Event, you will see the content that was shared and which platform it was shared on. You'll also be able to see the type of share - whether it was a tweet or a post.
Having this email event type means that you can use these in Advanced Finds, Workflows, CRM Charts and reports, just as you can with other email event records.
NOTE: We will track if someone clicks on the social link in the email as a Click event. We will create the Social Email Event only when the recipient actually shares the email.
