Viewing Social Clicks and Activity from Posts
Notice how the URL for our GoToWebinar registration page has been shortened to include the okt.to that we needed our Social CNAME to point to within our DNS host? This is what helps with the tracking for people who click the link from our published social post.
Visitors clicking on these links within your social posts will generate a Social Click record within Dynamics. To check all of your Social Clicks, navigate to Messaging > Social Clicks:
Opening a Social Click record will let you see which social network and post generated the click as well as some additional details about the visitor and the Visit record that they generated, if available.
Viewing Page Views
The recorded social clicks on links from your published social posts from identified visitors will also be recorded as Page View records within Dynamics. To view this, go to Web & Events > Page Views.
Open a Page View record. The type will be Page, but the URL will contain the CNAME that you set for your social marketing links, as well as several other parameters for tracking purposes. With Dynamics, it is easy to use this criteria to create personal views showing various activity and records generated from social posts.
All of this information can help you analyze which social profiles and posts are generating the most activity so that you can determine the most effective methods for your future communications!
