If your account is switched to the Opt-In subscription method, you will see an option to set your ClickDimensions emails (ex. Quick Sends, Email Sends) as Transactional.
As of ClickDimensions Release Versions 10.5 and 10.6, the Transactional option was also made available to updated environments using the Opt-Out Subscription Management for Email Sends and a Campaign Automation Send Email Actions.
- See the associated Email Send fields on our "Create an Email Send" article here under the "Recipients Settings" section.
- See the associated Campaign Automation Send Email Action article here.
What they are
Transactional emails are emails that contain no marketing content. They are emails you must send regardless of the recipients' unsubscribes or preferences.
**Send transactional emails with caution. Make sure you are abiding by any laws you are subject to abide by. Transactional emails are only meant for non-marketing, necessary emails.**
Examples would include: sign up confirmations, form submission confirmations, order confirmation/receipt, or emails you legally must send.
What they do
Transactional emails sent via ClickDimensions will not check against any unsubscribe records, subscription preferences, or the Do Not Allow Bulk Emails and Do Not Allow Emails fields. The only things that will be checked are the attached Suppression Lists and the blocked list which contains email addresses that have had too many bounces or have marked your emails as spam. Any recipient that is on a suppression list or that has been blocked will be excluded from the email.
These emails will not check to see if there is an unsubscribe or subscription management link in the email.
